X100 RDG Reading Buses 530

New in 2004 as LJ04 LEU, this is one of 7x former Arriva London DAF DB250/Wright Pulsar
Gemini double deckers acquired for our ‘Silver Stars’ school bus network earlier this year.
All seven have been converted to single door layout, had a new wheelchair bay and front
entrance ramp installed, lower deck floor covering replaced, up-seated, fitted with Hannover LED
destination and number displays and re-painted into our ‘generic’ silver livery.
Bus 530 is the final bus of the batch and has been extensively upgraded beyond its base
specification in a joint project between Bus & Coach World of Blackburn and Reading Buses to
demonstrate the capabilities of bus industry suppliers and trial some new interior concepts.

The upgraded bus now includes the following new features:
• Upgraded Esteban seats with Civic V3 headrests trimmed in grey leather with stitched in logos
• Seats re-trimmed in the latest Reading Buses ‘black multi-coloured dot’ moquette
• Re-floored with Altro two-tone wood effect flooring throughout
• Re-painted interior panels and silver powder coated hand poles fitted with new bell push units
• At seat USB charging points and 4G Bosch Wi-Fi throughout
• Upgraded LED salon lighting with additional under-seat, staircase and floor lights
• New ‘social seating’ concepts upstairs with a sofa style ‘banquette’ and a table seating area
• On table ’air-charge’ wireless mobile phone and tablet ‘qi’ charging pad and cable connectors
• White crystal Hannover LED destination display
• New style Wrightbus Gemini/Eclipse front end and personalised registration plate

Many of these features are now in test ready for deployment in our new bus orders.
This particular bus will be used in our ‘generic’ spare pool and will support the 6x brand new
Wright Streetdeck buses on order to upgrade our Woodley Orange routes from September 2016.

Optare Metrodecker Demonstrator

Electric blue Optare MetroDecker demonstrator on loan to First South Yorkshire the bus as been allocated fleet number 35000, the bus will be run out of Rotherham Depot and will be trials on the X78 over the new few weeks

This bus was the first Metrodecker build on Optare shop floor , as OP14 ARE & YJ65 EPU was built by the Development team , ( 340004 durability model parked up outside unpainted which won't be going anywhere )

Heres the First one to hit the road with Reading Buses sadly couldn't get to Reading so I'm using my picture of it at the NEC when seen in the Yorkshire Tiger livery sadly they didn't get it :(

WYPB Yorkshire Paper Buses

First Greater Manchester Vantage

Vantage unveiled.

This service will run on the Leigh - Salford - Manchester, guided Busway. It's branded `Vantage` to reflect the premium quality of Busway service.

Its the first of 20 brand new , low emission, hybrid buses that are ready to go out. Upstairs there is deluxe style coach-back seating and table areas. There is E-Leather seating , free Wi-Fi , visual announcements and USB Chargers.

One of the incentives was free taster tickets and £1 fares. Customers will pay a maximum of £1 for any single  journey between Leigh , Atherton ,Tyldesley and Ellenbrook.

The promotional fare will be available for 6 months. Free taster ticket available until 2nd April ,with mobile tickets also available.

Regular fares will be £4.20 for Firstday and £14 for Firstweek . A range of mobile tickets , including £10 weekly for 16-18 year olds will be available

Yorkshire Rider Leeds 8601 K601 HUG

This Scania N113 Alexander Strider is a wonderful looking bus , it with a new owner now the keep her life going on sadly I didn't get a ride on it this time maybe next time I've been talking to the new owner he really thankful for the pictures i got, hope to see it at bus rally's to come - everybody was looking for it as it was the star of the show , hope the new owner is liking his new bus , I did also see the old owner out and about did get talking then I when and got a bus up to the bus museum and didn't see much I wanted so when about 5/10 minutes down road to get 8601 in a lovely shot with a really good friend ( 6228 Leeds ) then we waited for it to come around the corner. the history on the bus from the new owner ( new to Yorkshire Rider Halifax but after a couple of months moved to Rider LEEDS. It was withdrawn from Hunslet Park depot I believe in 2009) Note he only had her nearly a year before that she was parked :)

1807 Birthday Party at Optare Sherburn

Here we all see a great little bus called the Solo SR, it was shown at the NEC on Wednesday 30th September but I didn't see it till 1st October 2015 witch it still as the registration ( Solo ) so still doesn't have one yet but should be soon and an16 plate , now here's why we was at the Optare factory it's was a birthday party for 1807 C807 KBT Layland Cub CU435 Optare but sadly wasn't there but we did get a sorry from the owner and then when on and had a talk and a show around the factory , and other talks about how the bus is built and PDI , also saw a Blue Metrodecker Demo witch had Blue leather seats and blue floor should be out in about 4 weeks, A massive thanks to the team at Optare who gave there own time up to do the tour and a thanks to James the owner of 1807 , big thanks for the invite

Longstaff Demo

Here's a special demo for Longstaff of Batley it's been with the company since Friday 26th February 2016 and been seen on AL6 school bus , then it's been used on the 205 Mirfield / Dewsbury, I've been on 3 times getting to know the driver who had it the most had feedback off him ( he said it drives beautiful , fuel is great ) passengers feedback was great on it aswell ( lovely seats , nice looking ) only thing what I've been getting back is there's not a lot of bells for the passengers only 6 on a 44 seater should be at least about 12 as the route it does gets a lot of OAPs on , that's who was asking about bells ( a lot asked where my blue bus - driver said its a demonstrator, then he told me a lot of them though Yorkshire Tiger taken over Longstaff ) if the demonstrators goes great for the week he as it he might keep it longer as Optare doesn't have plans for it next week ( going to have to wait and find out ) but on Saturday 27th February 2016 it was out till 14:50 then had to go to the depot as the driver who was on next bit couldn't drive it , so I rang up to see where it was and the person on phone said there's a new bus on order ( I asked which bus ) he said my son does the orders and I don't know ( still waiting to find out ) as Optare as loaned them this lovely Metrocity I think it may be a Optare bus on order / The new bus on order will replace FD02 SEO As the gearbox is really bad  other things aswell and now only being used on schools and not the 205

Arriva Yorkshire Takes Over Tates Travel Routes

Since Tates Travel ceased trading Arriva had taken over some routes as witch Stagecoach did as well so with February changes with Arriva means the have had to give up on 126/127 and give it to Dewsbury depot as Wakefield did 3 boards and gave Dewsbury the 3 buses witch Wakefield run on the service so Wakefield could run the routes they have just taken over from Tates Travel and got 3 buses on long term loan from Arriva Bus & Coach ( 1497 - YJ62 JWL , 1496 - YJ62 JXG , YJ58 FFA ) Seen one on 485 witch uses to be Tates Travel route This morning / I have been told Tates Travel as come back but under Glob Coaches I`ve seen two plan white solos on the 97 today coming out of Wakefield bus station , on address on side said Gloe Coaches

First West Yorkshire 32697 Back from the dead

Out of service since 2nd January 2014 after suffering an electrical fire and now on 9th February 2016 doing test runs around Leeds area as it got a video recorder in front window where ticket machine goes & 2 drivers

Goodbye to Tates Travel who ceased trading today

Sadly another company has ceased trading today, Tates Travel have gone into liquidation this afternoon. Thoughts go out to the stranded passengers trying to get home & to work and the drivers who don't have a job now, who as usual appear to have been kept in the dark, sad to see but it was a long time coming but gave a good fight till today Hope some company round Barnsley take the drivers & other staff on so they have a job. ( Company`s what was owned by Island Fortitude, Henderson Travel in Scotland, Eddie Brown, Bakers Coaches were 3 that failed then we go on to more companys, Silcox Coaches down south survived by being sold back to their original owners and Battersby Silver Grey nearly sold out but eventually was bought by Travellers Choice ) I think the current owners bought what was left of Tates from Island Fortitude, tried to turn the business around but obviously didn't work When they scurried away having grabbed a load of £££ from the businesses they closed down / will soon happen to all independent companys around the UK :( Witch id just tell them to do one and I'm not sale in to you as ive seen what you've done to other independent companys
